- 1. Prepare
Put on nitrile gloves. Keep the kit within reach.
- 2. Document
Photograph the entire animal, the wound, and any larvae.
- 3. Collect
Use the forceps to place the specimen into the container and seal it.
- 4. Bag
Place the container in the biohazard bag with absorbent material.
- 5. Label
Complete the label with animal ID, date, and location.
- 6. Report
Submit the case and immediately contact USDA APHIS or your veterinarian.
